WE DID IT AGAIN!!!

And we owe our success to all of you!

Despite the impending snow (that we feared would keep our crowds away) we had another record JAM! For the 3^rd year in a row we exceeded our goal.

Thanks to the amazing bands, volunteers, generous donors, fun loving crowd and, of course our hospitable host Jim, and his amazing Orange Ale House Crew!!! We were truly touched by the bartenders donating their tips for the 2^nd year in a row! They outdid themselves by topping their tips from last year’s JAM! Of course, the food was fantastic as usual!

 The kids had a great time too! Their room was jammin with Karaoke Jim and the face painting talents of Bobbi and Patti from Jammie the Gentle Clown, wwwjammiemandell@hotmail.com . Of course the Storm Trooper from the 501^st Connecticut Squad (http://www.connsquad.com) was supposed to be for the kids, but lets face it…I think the adults benefited from that one! Jonathan, Little John, Benedict and this year’s campers from Camp Happiness will all benefit from your generous donations.

It all came full circle and touched our hearts to see Lenny and Michael (last years recipients) come up on the stage and donate THEIR OWN hard earned money to our new friends and the cause. It’s such a joy for Jimi and I to have met and maintain friendships with these wonderful children.

 I especially want to thank my family and Chris Powers, who we consider part of our family! Without their support I would never be able to put this event together. There is so much that goes into planning this event and I always know that I can count on you. To my friends who continuously offer to volunteer, and the bands who not only offer to play for free but keep coming back year after year. You are all so crucial to this events success!

 As I said during the Jam, I will keep doing this as long as you continue coming. None of this is possible without all of you! It was incredible that in these hard economic times that we had such a generous crowd and we were able to reach our goal. Thanks, once again, for reassuring my faith that there are still a lot of good people out there!

I don’t think that saying thank you is really enough, I realized last night after everything was over and I finally sat down that I am blessed with having great people, friend’s family... around me. Thank you all for being there, not just for the charity, but for me, I hope you got a chance to see some amazing local talent, all the bands were fantastic, and I thank you all for playing.

Special thanks for Todd G. from ‘The Limit’ who donated his bass amp and for T Mac from ‘One Way Ticket’ for letting us use his Guitar amp. Thanks to Dj Dave, Chuck and Jeff, nice job with the sound. If you worked the doors or the raffle or sold T-shirts thank you again.
